Aws Malaysia Region is Available Now
Today 22th August 2024, AWS services Malaysia region it finally here. The new AWS Region in Malaysia will play a pivotal role in supporting the Malaysian government’s strategic Madani Economy Framework. This initiative aims to improve the living standards of all Malaysians by 2030 while supporting innovation in Malaysia and across ASEAN. The construction and operation of the new AWS Region is estimated to add approximately $12.1 billion (MYR 57.3 billion) to Malaysia’s gross domestic product (GDP) and will support an average of more than 3,500 full-time equivalent jobs at external businesses annually through 2038.
Here we have done some benchmarks simple comparison between Malaysia & other regions, and it is so exciting to share our finding
- Cost Efficiency: We observed that EC2 shared instances, such as the t4g.nano and c7g.large, are priced 13-17% lower compared to similar instances in the Singapore region. This cost efficiency is also applicable to managed database services (Aurora) the server for scalable relational databases, is 17% cheaper in the Malaysia region than Singapore. These findings highlight the potential for substantial cost savings for businesses that choose to deploy their workloads in Malaysia, particularly for those looking to optimize their cloud infrastructure expenses.
- Ultra-Low Latency: The tests show the advantage of using the AWS Malaysia region (this might be different in other country due to our testing being conducted from within Malaysia). The ping time is 38% better than the Singapore region and an incredible 82% better than the Hong Kong region. When we deployed a dummy web application, the performance was much better load times being 5.2% faster than the one in Singapore and 51% faster than that in Hong Kong.
